Some lessons to be learned from the Mandalay Bay mass shooting by Terry Trahan

My friend Terry Trahan posted some lessons to be learned from the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas mass shooting which occurred this past Sunday Oct 1, 2017:

You really want to f*cking know the only things we can learn from what happened in Las Vegas today?

  • Keep an eye on exits, have an escape plan from anywhere you enter.

  • Try to avoid the big crowds, so you won't get trampled.

  • Have a pre-chosen rendezvous point in case you get seperated. *HINT* right at the entrances/exits is not a good idea.

  • Trauma care and med kits that you are trained to use are worth their weight in whatever you value. Get good training in first aid AND trauma care, get equipped, and be useful.

  • Try to stay calm, and help others if it is safe to do so.

My friend Badger Johnson added on:

Good post. One more. Don't cling to your possessions, or your destination if something like that happens. When person in the next room who called 911 heard gunshots, did they stop to pack their stuff? I hope not! (Try to plan a "hotel-stay EDC method" to be out the door in 10 seconds.)

My gratitude to Terry Trahan and Badger Johnson for the share.

Deepest condolences and prayers to the loved ones of the victims of the Mandalay Bay mass shooting.
