IN MEMORY OF: Bruce Lee (November 27, 1940 – July 20, 1973)

Today marks the 40th Anniversary of the great Bruce Lee's untimely demise. He has inspired millions with his movies, philosophy, teachings and life.

A new ad came out just recently from Johnny Walker, a liquor company. They made a CGI with Bruce in it. Not sure how I feel how about the Estate of Bruce Lee using his likeness and name to promote an alcohol. Anyway, the CGI was well-done. Ad was shown in China first, therefore it's in Mandarin. The Hong Kong version is coming as I understand it and it will be in Cantonese. Check it out.

This next clip is well-done in trying to show the Unnoticed Movements of Bruce Lee.

Minor nitpicks on terminology used:

  • Lower feint (vs Chuck Norris) - 0:30 - that was one of the Five Ways of Attack to my eyes, specifically PIA (Progressive Indirect Attack)
  • Jab to chin (vs Jackie Chan) - 1:40 - IMO, it was ridgehand and not jab
  • Jab to throat with parry (vs. Chuck Norris) - ~3:11 IMO, it was ridgehand and not jab
  • I have a few more nitpicks I have but I will not bore you with them in hopes of not sounding like TOO much of a Martial Arts geek i.e. unless you want them - please post a comment if you do.

Here is a cute video put out from someone in France in the vein of Toy Story. It's called "Le Petit Dragon" (The Little Dragon).

Check out future blogs from me ... am in the process of making more animated GIF's ... ones of Bruce in action but of course!

I end this post with:

*Ging Lai* (salute)

RIP Lee sifu
